EMERGENCY HELP
Any needy person in Marion County, regardless of sex, creed, or color, can come and apply for assistance during our regular office hours.
Monday 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Tuesday 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Wednesday 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Thursday 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Friday 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
The level of assistance and the time constraints for assistance are set on a case by case basis. Applicants for assistance should be able to provide proper identification but no one will be denied the ability to apply for assistance. All applicants need to fill out an intake form.
If requesting furniture assistance, a lease and utility bill in the applicants name is required.
No assistance or promises are made over the phone. You must come in and see us and apply.
All Applicants Must Provide Marion County ID and a Social Security Card
FURNITURE
ONCE EVERY 12 MONTHS
Who’s Eligible: Disabled persons, Seniors 65+, Legal parent or guardian with at least one child under 12 living with them full time.
CLOTHING
ONCE EVERY 4 MONTHS
Who’s Eligible: Anyone with a photo ID.
FOOD / PERSONALS
ONCE EVERY 2 MONTHS
Who’s Eligible: Disabled, Seniors 65+, Legal paren or guardian with at least one child under 17 living with them full time, Adults employed full time.
GAS CARDS
ONCE EVERY 6 MONTHS
Who’s Eligible: Anyone with documented proof of medical appointments with the next 4 days in Gainesville, Tampa, or Orlando.
UTILITIES
ONCE EVERY 12 MONTHS FOR 2 YEARS
Who’s Eligible: Only City of Ocala Utilities. Legal parent or guardian with at least one child under 17 living with them full time, those receiving government disability income, seniors 65+, and active Blessed Trinity parishioners.
MEDICATIONS
ONCE EVERY 6 MONTHS
Who’s Eligible: Anyone with a Marion County photo ID and current prescription who has already been to Interfaith Emergency Services.
